Fifteen 30 is the moniker I adopted as a mobile pager code back in 1997. When flipped upside down, 1530 spells Des, with an exclamation point. This single creative device launched my graffiti adventures in the Midwest and carried into my design career where I currently reside, the Pacific Northwest. 1530 quickly became the signature for all my work in graffiti, art and design. I take the same approach of flipping, distorting and reversing things to create solutions that inspire us to look at the world differently. I have a strong DIY and hands-on approach to my designs. and my experience in automotive fabrication, woodworking and all sorts of product customization means I can do more than design with my own two hands. My work and research takes me to some of the world’s most incredible places and I often incorporate inspiration from my travels in my solutions. Whether I’m painting murals in London, or taking photos for a client in the Cascades, I try to use a sense of thoughtfulness that brings different cultures together. In between travels, I practice my graffiti; doing pro bono mural work for urban communities and small businesses. I race downhill mountain bikes with my two boys and play hockey.
